Bookkeeper

Part-time / Full-time | Permanent

Day-to-day duties:
  • Carry out cloud accounting bookkeeping
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Weekly/monthly payrolls
  • Assisting accountant in accounts preparation if/when required
Essential skills:
  • Extensive experience of monthly bookkeeping for a diverse range of clients
  • Experience of preparing quarterly VAT returns
  • Experience and knowledge of the payroll process (onboarding new starters, terminating leavers, calculating pro rata holiday pay and salaries, processing SSP, SMP, SPP, processing auto-enrolment pensions, using a computerised payroll system, monthly/annual online returns)
  • Ability to show initiative and manage own workload to adhere to set deadlines
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
Desired skills:
  • Prior knowledge of Xero Cloud Accounting Software
  • Qualified to AAT Level 3 minimum or QBE

    This role can be offered either on a full or part-time basis. The working hours are 8.30 am to 5.00 pm for a full-time role. This role offers the right candidate the opportunity to learn and progress if desired.

    Senior Accountant

    Full-time | Permanent

    Day-to-day duties:
    • Accessing financial records of the clients
    • Preparing year-end and statutory accounts
    • Reviewing bookkeeping and Xero records, dealing with journals, and preparing management accounts
    • Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
    • Preparation and submission of self-assessment tax returns
    • Assisting with bookkeeping, accounting, VAT, and payroll work as needed
    Skills and experience:
    • Level 4 AAT qualified, or working towards or qualified ACA or ACCA
    • Previous accountancy practice experience essential
    • Experience in Xero cloud accounting technology is desirable
    • Enthusiastic, outgoing, and passionate
    • Dynamic, team orientated, and confident
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft packages
    • Great organisational and communications skills (role involves occasional client contact)
    • Committed to continuous personal development

      This is a full-time, permanent position. The working hours are Monday to Friday from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.

      A full UK driving license and your own transport are required due to the location of the office. As well as visiting clients at their choice of location, if/when required.
